19.06.2018 - A new sporting challenge lies ahead I.S.R. racing that will get on track this coming weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale in Monza (ITA) for its maiden race in the 3 Hours Endurance Champions Cup 2018.

A new driver lineup will be behind the wheel of the n.34 Audi R8 LMS run by the Czech outfit. The three Argentinian drivers Rafael Eugenio Morgenstern, Matías Leonardo Rossi and Franco Emilio Vivian will share duties. The main goal will be to allow drivers to show all their potential on a car that they will get acquainted with for the first time on the fast and very technical Italian circuit.

Morgenstern, class 1984, has been two times Formula Renault Argentinian Champion in 2001 and 2002, and he also took part in several competitions both at the National and International level on formula challengers, like Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, Brazilian Formula Renault and Formula Renault 2.0 Italy. He switched to closed wheel racing in 2005 and claimed P3 in Top Race V6 2012, before becoming a Toyota factory driver in Super TC2000 2015 and 2016. He also contested some races in 2017.

Rossi is a 34 years old Toyota factory driver. He is currently competing in Super TC2000, Top Race V6 and Touring Carretera and his career is full of victories and placings. Following the debut on karts and formula cars, his career switched to GT cars, where he became the youngest driver to ever win two TC2000 championships (2006 and 2007) in a row and claimed another win in his maiden season as Toyota factory driver in 2011. He also won the Super TC2000 championship in 2013 with the Japanese constructor and was second in 2012 and 2016. The victory of Carretera 2014 on Chevrolet stands out among the other wins.

Vivian, class 1989, is an expert in Argentinian touring cars categories. After the beginnings in karting and the first victories in open wheelers like Formula Renault Argentine, he made his debut on touring cars in 2008 in Top Race Junior. In 2012 he contested his first race in TC2000 in what later on became the Chevrolet factory team. He is contesting the Carretera Touring Championship for the Chevrolet team but also competes in other categories. His best result is the 10th overall in TC2000 in 2014.

The drivers will be at their maiden race on the legendary circuit in Monza, whose 5.793 meters make it one of the fastest racetracks in the world. Cars will be full throttle for more than 70% of the lap, while brakes will be heavily stressed before the chicanes, that offer also good overtaking chances.

The racing weekend will be compacted in two days. Drivers will get on track for two free practice sessions on Saturday at 9:00 and 11:50 (GMT +2) before the single qualifying scheduled for 14:50. The three hours long race will get underway on Sunday at 11:45.

The race will be available through the Facebook page of the Peroni Race Group www.facebook.com/GruppoPeroniRace, that will also feature some live sessions.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"The debut in a series is always an exciting moment and debuting on a circuit like Monza adds prestige to the race. Rafael, Matias and Franco are experienced drivers that proved to be successful in Argentine and the fact that they chose I.S.R. racing for this debut makes us very proud. On a technical standpoint, we know well the circuit of Monza, since we have competed here in several occasions and the Audi R8 LMS can give a lot of satisfaction on this track. We will certainly be ready, should we had a chance to be the protagonists".
